What is Miss Sylacauga?
Miss Sylacauga is the oldest running preliminary to Miss Alabama and ultimately Miss America. What is the Miss America Opportunity? The public perception of Miss America is often that it’s a one-night telecast, but in reality it’s so much more. This unique opportunity is a year-round program of “Style, Service, Scholarship and Success” – representing the four points of the Miss America crown. Participants acquire life long skills while earning scholarships, meet other like-minded women, cultivate their own personal style, and engage within their communities. For over 100+ years, The Miss America Organization has been committed to empowering women to lead. The role of Miss America is an exciting, fun, challenging year of service that requires energy, positivity, professionalism and courtesy. Miss America uses her term to inspire, promote, engage, and repesent woman across America and their respective ambitions, goals, dreams and visions of their futures. A first step to continuing her education and career, the role of Miss America is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that carries with it prestige, influence, responsibility and great honor.
