Tournament Rules
1. A team shall consist of 1 or 2 anglers per boat. Entry fee is based on boat entry. If you choose to fish as a single man team, full entry fee is still required.
2. Order of blast off will be determined by order of registration.
3. Safe and Lawful boating must be observed at all times. Each contestant is required to wear a chest type life preserver anytime the boat is on plane. All boats must be equipped with approved U.S. Coast Guard safety equipment as required to be compliant with the size of vessel being used.
4. All participants are expected to practice good sportsmanship on the water.
5. Use of illegal drugs or alcohol during the event will result in immediate disqualification.
6. All participants must have a valid state fishing license.
7. All boats must be equipped with an approved type of operable ignition kill switch. The ignition-kill device must be attached to the driver’s body any time the combustion engine is operating. Anytime the combustion engine is operating and in gear, there must be a driver in the driver’s seat in full control of the boat. Boat motors must not exceed USCG rating plate.
8. Only largemouth and spotted bass are allowed to be brought to the scales.
9. Fish weighed must meet the minimum length according to the Golden Rule or equivalent measurement system to be determined by the State of Alabama Regulations according to the lake that is being fished. It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure they know and understand the requirements of each lake. Bass which fail to measure the minimum length will not be weighed.
10. Minimum length will be 12”. Fish are measured with mouth closed and tail pinched. Any fish shorter than the minimum length that is brought to the scales will not be weighed.
11. Only artificial lures with the exception of pork trailers may be used. Only one rod per angler may be presented and in the water at one time. All bass must be caught live and in a conventional sporting manner. Trolling as a method for fishing is not allowed.
12. For each dead fish weighed, there will be a .25 oz. penalty in total weight.
13. No dead fish will be weighed for big fish contest.
14. Places of finish will be determined by total weight. In the event of a tie, place earnings will be split evenly.
15. There will be a penalty of .5 oz. per minute from your total weight for anyone showing up after scheduled weigh in time. After 10 minutes, your boat will be disqualified.
16. Participants must sign a waiver releasing tournament organizer, and any sponsors from being responsible for damage, injury, or death as a result of actions performed in this event.
